Episode 2 - Mind Like Water: How to Get Things Done

(download)

A few years ago David Allen published a technique that allows today’s workers to organize our work and allow us to focus on our tasks while we’re working, and forget about them when we’re not. This technique, called Getting Things Done, has gained some popularity amongst management, but is useful at any level. In this episode Josh & Joe review the steps to Getting Things Done: getting tasks out of your head and into a trusted system, keeping them organized, and getting your email inbox under control. If you have ever struggled with too much to do and not enough time to do it, this episode is for you!

Update: Josh mentions in the show his favorite GTD app is Things. Since we recorded this show OmniGroup released a whitepaper titled OmniFocus, GTD, and You in conjunction with David Allen. They explain how to use their product, OmniFocus to follow the GTD technique. After reading this paper, Josh decided to try OmniFocus. He has now made the switch 100% from Things and is very happy with it. At the moment, Joe is still using Things.

(Doodle Jump update 1.2.1 brings a secret “easter egg” created in
collaboration with Pocket God. If you set your name to one of the
default Pocket God pygmy names (“Ooga”, “Klik”, “Klak”, etc.) the
original Doodler character will be replaced with a jumping, coconut
throwing, pygmy from Pocket God!)
